Vision

To reduce the scale and impact of dementia we need to increase public awareness about risk factors, fight stigma and strive towards dementia-friendly and dementia-ready communities.

Strategy

Jayashree's work involves providing services for people living with dementia and mental health conditions. She has also been raising awareness about dementia and early detection which is essential to help families prepare for the caring journey.

Impact

As an Atlantic Fellow, Jayashree aims to strengthen health systems in India by developing contextually informed and culturally acceptable models of care for adults living with brain health conditions and their families.

Motivation

Detection and treatment gaps for dementia are estimated to be as high as 90% in India. Since most people do not receive any kind of professional help, there is a huge need to build systems for early detection and to support family caregivers.
