Vision

To reduce the scale and impact of dementia we need intersectoral and multidisciplinary collaboration between clinicians, government, educational institutions, private sectors, community and other stakeholders.

Strategy

Fasihah is working on conducting a public campaign for raising awareness of dementia, performing early detection and cognitive screening, strengthening human resources through training and research, and also aiming to provide better post-diagnostic support.

Impact

Fasihah aims to gain a better understanding of brain health, to establish a holistic management of dementia combining various strategies, and to create a professional and sustainable system for strengthening human resources to increase knowledge and skills.

Motivation

To achieve optimum brain health and protect society from dementia and other age-related brain diseases in a multi-ethnic and culturally diverse population like in Indonesia, there is a need for a specific, unique, and creative approaches.

Education & Experience

Fasihah graduated as medical doctor, received a master's degree and completed her residency in Neurology at the Faculty of Medicine Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia. She has completed her fellowship program in Neurobehavior at the Neurology Department Universitas Indonesia, Ciptomangunkusumo Hospital, Indonesia. She was inaugurated as a behavioral neurologist consultant from the Indonesian Neurology Association. She is currently a lecturer at the Department of Neurology, Universitas Sumatera Utara, Indonesia.
