Vision

Addressing the impact of dementia requires focusing on early prevention among young people and young adults by emphasizing protective factors.

Strategy

Mawuli founded Ahonhon Digital Therapeutics. "Ahonhon" means "Brain" in Togo's common language. It provides cognitive stimulation for Togolese youth and adults through the "Ahonhon Book", a brain-focused concept for early prevention of dementia.

Impact

As an Atlantic Fellow, Mawuli aspires to establish a brain health clinic and research center in Togo, focusing on prevention and offering cognitive rehabilitation for people living with dementia, based on local brain research and terminology.

Motivation

Memory loss is frequently perceived as a facet of normal aging in my country, resulting in insufficient attention and expertise in its management. There is an urgent need for evidence-based brain health strategies to offer assistance.

Education & Experience

Mawuli Lawson holds a PhD in Clinical Psychology from the University of Lomé (Togo). He is currently a part time lecturer at the University of Lomé.
