Lina is an associate researcher at Antioquia University and a professor of psychology. She is working on the research field of dementia, lifestyle interventions to improve brain health, neuropsychology, and dementia care.

To reduce the scale and impact of dementia, Lina believes we have to include diet, physical training, and cognition as key preventive measures to improve cardiometabolic health and protect the brain.
Lina is working on postmortem clinical data analyses to chart the vascular contributions to white matter disease in familial Alzheimer’s disease and CADASIL. She is also working on implementing lifestyle interventions in Latin America to improve brain health and reduce dementia risk.
Lina is using the clinical and research expertise gained as a fellow to implement brain health preventive interventions among dementia high-risk populations in Latin America.
After working with the families that make up the world's largest population with early Alzheimer’s disease, Lina saw the critical need to reduce the psychosocial impact of dementia on people affected by it.
Lina graduated in psychology from Antioquia University in Medellin, Colombia. She received her master’s degree in epidemiology from the Health Sciences Institute in Medellin, Colombia. Since 2012 Lina joined the Neuroscience Group of Antioquia as an associate researcher and as a professor at Antioquia University.
