Kirti has a better understanding of global health and the opportunities and challenges within this field because of her fellowship journey. Models of health established in high income countries were developed with an understanding of resources available in those areas and are not practical globally.
Motivation
The incidence of dementia is expected to increase in South Africa. Focusing on risk prevention strategies has the potential to significantly reduce this anticipated increase.
Dr. Kirti Ranchod is a neurologist, based in Johannesburg, South Africa. She graduated with a degree in medicine from the University of Witwatersrand and obtained her specialist neurology qualification from the Colleges Of Medicine SA.
