Vision

To reduce dementia risk, Kirti believes we need to develop a strategy that focuses on both the resources required and the resources available within communities.

Strategy

Kirti is increasing public awareness on brain health, including increasing awareness on the value of the resources we have within our communities and country to do this.

Impact

Kirti has a better understanding of global health and the opportunities and challenges within this field because of her fellowship journey. Models of health established in high income countries were developed with an understanding of resources available in those areas and are not practical globally.

Motivation

The incidence of dementia is expected to increase in South Africa. Focusing on risk prevention strategies has the potential to significantly reduce this anticipated increase.
