The best approach to address this challenge is through developing multidisciplinary interventions.
Strategy
Hanan’s plans are to establish a national and regional network for mental health with three aims:
increase awareness through advocacy,
improve the quality of patient care; and
improve understanding of mental health through epidemiological and intervention research.
Impact
Hanan hopes to obtain unique training in the fields of cognitive neuroscience and dementia and to grow a unique network with Atlantic Fellows, which she believes is important for any early/mid-career researcher like herself in terms of academic growth.
Motivation
The burden of dementia in Jordan, as in most other countries, is on a steady increase and will continue to pose major challenges to healthcare providers in terms of clinical management and the associated economic implications.
