We need to develop and implement creative, culturally fair, and scalable solutions to improve early diagnosis and care for people with dementia worldwide and reduce inequities in late-life brain health.
Elena is a clinical neuropsychologist working on understanding brain health disparities in late life and identifying key social determinants of brain health. She is also a bilingual clinical provider serving patients with cognitive impairment at the UCSF Memory and Aging Clinic.
Elena is working with the GBHI faculty and Atlantic Fellows on projects aimed at deepening our understanding of underlying causes of inequities in late-life brain health and address cultural bias in cognitive assessment of diverse individuals.
Elena Tsoy was awarded her PhD degree in counseling psychology from the University of Massachusetts Boston. She completed her predoctoral internship in clinical psychology at Tewksbury State Hospital and has been a postdoctoral fellow in neuropsychology at the UCSF Memory and Aging Center since 2018.
