Current Work

Dafne is dedicated to the clinical care of older people with the aim of preserving their functional capacity and well-being. As a neurogeriatrician, her main goal is brain health and cognitive decline, encouraging research.

Strategy

Dafne is currently working with the ReDLat project, promoting lectures with caregivers and people living with dementia. This can help describe with detail the clinical phenotypes of dementia and classify them as syndromes in Mexico, and empower people with dementia with educational talks.

Impact

As an Atlantic Fellow, Dafne aims to develop a brief screening tool to ensure people with dementia can continue to drive safely and create a dementia friendly mobility environment.

Motivation

By improving mobility and safety conditions in environments for people living with dementia, Dafne aims to improve their quality of life and functionality.

Education & Experience

Dafne graduated as an MD from the Autonomous University of Aguascalientes. She became a specialist in Geriatrics at the Hospital Civil de Guadalajara Fray Antonio Alcalde at the Autonomous University of Guadalajara. She was a fellow of Geriatric Neurology at the National Institute of Medical Sciences and Nutrition Salvador Zubirán. After completing her fellowship she joined the RedLat Project in clinical assessment.
