Vision
Our society excludes the elderly from social life, economic activity, and even family. We should go back to including them in every aspect of life and seeing aging as a natural and valuable process.
Strategy
Clara is working to improve non-pharmacological care and support for caregivers in Galicia, a region in the Northwest of Spain with one of the fastest aging populations, through online support.
Impact
As an Atlantic Fellow, Clara has had the chance to know how dementia care works around the world and has entered a network of professionals with different backgrounds and levels of expertise, all devoted to improving the lives of people living with dementia.
Motivation
Spain needs to take more steps towards improving dementia care with a fully-funded national dementia strategy and more resources allocated to non-pharmacological treatment and caregiver support.
