Vision

To reduce the scale and impact of dementia worldwide, it is imperative that we build and promote equitable and accessible ways for people to stay socially connected as they age, including providing health-promoting opportunities for active and creative engagement.

Strategy

Cheyenne is currently designing a singalong radio program with an accompanying Creativity Guide called Tea, Talk, & Tunes. The show will highlight the music and voices of elders to address stigma and increase wellbeing through social and creative engagement.

Impact

Learning alongside her fellows, Cheyenne has broadened her knowledge of the various facets of diagnosis, treatment, and care of people with dementia. Her fellows’ wide-ranging experience and expertise has given her insights into other fields as well as cultural perspectives.

Motivation

People with dementia have become increasingly separated from society, leading to isolation and disengagement. Cheyenne believes music and other art forms can foster agency and connection between elders wherever they live and create a gateway for engaging with their surrounding communities.
