Strategy
Emily's work draws on international comparative data to better understand the impact of shifting public sector financing of home care services on the lived experience of older adults with dementia.
Impact
As an Atlantic Fellow, Emily has had the opportunity to forge interdisciplinary collaborations with extraordinary brain health experts from around the world. This experience has demonstrated that when we break free from our professional silos, we can achieve so much more together.
Motivation
The rising rates of dementia in Scotland and around the world have significant financial consequences; the economic impact of dementia can be seen both at the health systems level as well as at an individual level.
Education & Experience
Emily Adrion is a Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in Global Health Policy and International Director for the School of Social and Political Science at the University of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. Emily holds a Ph.D. in Health Services Research and Policy from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, an M.Sc. in Social Policy and Planning from the London School of Economics and a B.A. in Economics from Colorado College.
